Critical State

Read Critical State by James Howard Kunstler.  I suggest you read him not because you may agree with everything he writes (I don't), but because he is the most gifted writer I have come across out here in a financial/political landscape that includes knuckle dragging, typo-filled garbage, overly intellectualized theorizing and everything (good and bad) in between.

I first saw Kunstler posted a few years ago at 321gold, and he blew me away.  I could be wrong, but I think I remember that he somehow pissed off Barb and Bob and is no longer published there.  In fact, they appear to have sanitized records of his editorials (I could not find them in the archive), though I know 321 is where I read him.  For ref., they stopped publishing my work years ago (hmmm, wonder why) but still keep the archive, even though I formally requested that they remove them.

Anyway, Kunstler must've really pissed them the hell off and that is exactly what I love about the guy.  He's an unvarnished wordsmith with a straight ahead style, hammering away at this Clusterfuck of a nation each and every week in entertaining fashion.

Disclosure:  I have absolutely no reason for posting this other than I like the guy, it's may blog and I feel like putting my thoughts out there.  I communicated once or twice with Mr. Kunstler by email a few years ago and he sent me a book.  Dat was it!  I just get sick of the boring, boilerplate crap that is put out, written by self-impressed know-nothings for the herd to lap up.
